MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCES
DAVID MILLS
David E. Mills was named Manager, Human Resources of the Mid-Carolinas District in April 2006. In this capacity, Mr. Mills oversees the Labor Relations, Safety, Injury Compensation, Local Services/Personnel, and Learning, Development and Diversity (LDD) functions for the District. His responsibilities include overseeing all Labor Relations related activities, all Safety related activities, Voice of the Employee (VOE) and employee recognition efforts, Training and Employee Development, Injury Compensation activities, and the Postal Medical Unit.
Mr. Mills began his postal career in 1987 as a Letter Sorting Machine (LSM) Clerk at the Charlotte P&DC. In 1991, he became a Supervisor, Mails at the Charlotte P&DC and in 1995 was promoted to Supervisor, Distribution Operations (SDO) at the facility. Starting in 1995, Mr. Mills started a long-term detail assignment in Labor Relations, which resulted in his promotion to a Labor Relations Specialist position in the Appalachian District in 2000. In 2002, Mr. Mills returned to the Mid-Carolinas District as Manager, Labor Relations.
Mr. Mills is a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Relations.
Mr. Mills has been awarded numerous Special Achievement Awards. He and his wife have two children and reside in Charlotte.
