EAP CONSULTANT
KELLY GALLAGHER
Kelly Gallagher has been a USPS Employee Assistance Program Consultant for the Greater South Carolina District since June 2009. Her role as an EAP Consultant for the District includes providing consultation and coaching to Postal Managers and Supervisors, responding to Critical Incidents throughout the District and nationally, if needed, and to provide EAP counseling to District employees and their families. She is an ad-hoc member of the EAP District Advisory Committee and a member of the Threat Assessment Team committee for the District. Additionally, Kelly presents stand-up talks to stations, offices and plants and facilitates health and wellness trainings by departmental request.
Kelly hails from the Hoosier State but moved to South Carolina in 2008. She attended Marian College in Indianapolis, Indiana and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She went onto Indiana University and completed her Master of Social Work in 1991. With over twenty years experience in the field of mental health and human potential, Kelly brings a wealth of expertise to her role as an EAP Consultant. Prior to working for Magellan Health Services as a USPS EAP Consultant, Kelly managed her own Counseling and Consulting business, Southside Counseling Associates, in Greenwood, Indiana. In addition, she leveraged her skills to work in hospital settings, out patient clinics, family preservation services, and the insurance industry. Kelly has written and recorded several health and wellness pieces for the Public Radio show, Sound Medicine. And most recently, she has contributed articles to the Postmaster Gazette and Postal Supervisors publications as a part of her role as a District Consultant. When she is not wearing her Consultant hat you can find her in the Upstate of South Carolina renovating their 1932 home and exploring South Carolina with her husband, Patrick and their two children, Gavin and Anna.
